"The house seemed much more comfortable and luxurious than other modern-style homes we've stayed in ... I'd go on and on, but I'd be afraid too many people will want to book this house making it harder for us to book for our next trip! :) :) :3-]"

We have had the pleasure of renting this beautiful house for the last three years for our "Friends Getaway" we would stay for more of our standard four days if our schedules allowed it. We enjoy the house so much that most of the time we don't even leave. We cook, BBQ, and enjoy catching up poolside. It really feels more like a resort than a house. We like to cook and the kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need need and more. Lots of barware for outside (plastic) and for inside. The chaise lounges by the pool are very nice and comfortable and plenty of umbrellas when you need them. Finally, it is so easy to book, much more affordable than hotels and the owner Joe takes great pride in keeping up the place as well as making it environment friendly that we can feel great about our choice to stay at one of his houses every year.
The listing description was spot on! The property was well maintained and clean!!! The customer service from Joe was second to none! I would recommend this property to anyone; family with small children, couples getaway, two family getaway... All the stores were so close. We never wanted to leave so we picked up all our supplies from the nearby trader joe's and BBQed every night! We were sad to leave!
My husband and I had the pleasure of renting this home for a month. Cathedral City turned out to be the perfect place to be for us...rather than either Palm Springs or Palm Desert. No matter which way we wanted to go, it was maybe a 10 minute drive or less. Had we stayed at one of these which are at opposite ends of the area, it would have been a 20 minute drive to get to the other. Since we eat out at least once a day (and many times 2X a day) we were out and about a lot! The family neighborhood is quiet and I wouldn't hesitate to take long walks in the area. The mountain views from both the front and back were enjoyed immensely. Games, puzzles, DVDs and even a printer are provided. The pool area is big enough for a huge family but the most we had at one time was only 4! Comfy loungers have replaced the ones pictured with metal legs. He has lots of pool toys although we brought our own noodles. At night the colored pool lights are a nice addition. We sat outside and watched the sun set several evenings nursing a glass of wine. The king size bed in the roomy master is comfortable with a good sized closet and 2 separate sink areas in the master bath. You can see the moon through the skylight in the shower. The other bedrooms are adequate and all have bedside tables and storage plus nice closets (the 4th bedroom shares the master closet through a connecting door which can be locked). The house is spacious and the combined living, dining, kitchen area is perfect! The kitchen has everything one could possibly need! There are even a few kitchen items (a larger pan and crock pot type cooker among them) stored in the garage. There are lots of spices and teas plus some other items people have probably used and left behind. While Joe provides things such as toilet paper, tissues, etc., we bought our own especially since we were there for an entire month. There absolutely was nothing we needed that wasn't there. As for Joe the owner...you couldn't ask for a more responsive caring person. Although a neighbor greeted us soon after our arrival, Joe stopped by for a visit at an agreed upon time. Every time we mentioned an item that would be nice to have
First time VRBO user. Or family was so impressed with how well equipped the home was. Everything we needed and everything had a place (labels to locate it all). The back yard was roomy, great view, lots of seating around a fantastic in ground glass fire pit. Spent every night under the stars just chatting and bringing back childhood stories. Joe was available to answer questions and helped us get situated on move in day. A wonderful time had by all! Looking forward to coming back!
Having stayed in Northern Palm Springs where it is windy, this was nice to not have the wind. House has a fully stocked kitchen - if one wishes to cook @ home. The real attraction is the backyard which was really the best place to be, if we had had sun for more than one day, it would have been enjoyed even more! Started off with some mis-communication, but Joe was great to get it all cleared away. Family was glad to be in good, quiet neighborhood and enjoyed the view out over the valley. Thanks for sharing the house with others!
The owner of the house we stayed at was very helpful and the accommodation was perfect for my family to get away from a cold Canadian winter and spend Christmas in Palm Springs. We had a large party and we ended up landing early after getting up very early for the flight in, the owner allowed us to check in early and a quick refreshing swim set the trip off perfect for the 4 kids that were with us. We had everything we needed to put on a full turkey Christmas dinner with all the fixings and that made it Christmas for all of us. Thank-you for the stay
This was our second year renting here, and it really feels like our home away from home. It's a great location in a quiet residential neighborhood, within a short drive of almost anywhere you would want to go in the valley. We had a small issue with the air conditioning not keeping up with the 100+ temps on our first day. The internet-connected thermostat notified Joe of the issue and he contacted us, quickly arranging to send someone to fix the problem. It turned out that the previous guests had left the swamp cooler on and it was fighting the AC system. The only negative was having to leave after our two weeks were up :-( We'll be back!
BOOKING - As a HomeAway "virgin", I had no idea what to expect when it came to booking a property. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the website was super user friendly and the numerous filters allowed me to easily navigate through the properties that met my criteria. OWNER - From the get go, Joe was awesome to work with! He responded to my online inquiry quickly and was very reasonable to work with. He even reached out to me to let me know that he received another inquiry for the same weekend I was interested in, but wanted to give me the priority since I inquired first. Joe definitely didn't have to do this, but we appreciated it so much! We also requested a late check out pretty last minute, but he was able to accommodate us and wasn't irritated at all with the last minute request (other owners probably would be!). PROPERTY - I loved this property! The goal of our weekend was to have a relaxing weekend bonding with the family - cooking, drinking and swimming in the pool! This place couldn't have been any more perfect for us. The backyard is beautiful and I don't think the pictures online do it justice. It's spacious, has great views and the salt water pool was fantastic (especially the colored lights at night!). Although we brought a lot of our own utensils and cooking supplies, we really didn't need to. The house has everything you would need cooking wise (including an outdoor grill), pool towels and swimming toys/mats were provided as well as many toiletries. Although we spent majority of our time at the house, we did make one trip to Downtown Palm Springs, which was only about 7 miles away, and we were happy to find that there were several major grocery stores within 1 mile of the house. The house was clean, decor was great and the beds were very comfortable! We had 6 adults and 2 children in our group and every single person loved this house. There was plenty of seating indoors for everyone and there was more space than we needed. My family and I can't wait to come back!!
Thanks to Joe for his amazing communication during our stay at his house. The house was perfect for us - plenty of room to mingle, relax, play and eat together in the evenings. The house has games for adults and children. There was plenty to do for all ages at the house. Master bedroom (stunning!) and very comfortable, the kitchen was unbelievable -- every kind of spice and condiment you could think of. Not to mention the outdoor fireplace (stunning!) Our greatest enjoyment was sitting outside at the natural gas fire pit... My family didn’t want to leave!! We ask Joe if we can check out late and he let us;) much appreciated! My kids where really HAPPY!!! and we BBQ again :) Short drive to grocery, we wanted to go check out Palm Desert while we were there, but the kids didn't want to leave the house -instead we hung out by the pool, soaked up. Joe (the owner) is a very good with communication any problems he will fix it ASAP. Thanks again Joe! We hope to come back and stay.....again and again!!! Louis
Had a great time! This place is well maintained & has a lot of nice little amenities!! You can have a quiet & peaceful afternoon but it's also a fun place to turn up the music & party a little. There seems to be plenty of seating if you have a large group. I enjoyed the downloadable app. which controls how to turn on the spa & the light display for the pool. Everything is nicely labeled & the house manual covers everything in great detail so we never had to call & ask how to turn anything on/off. The bed in the master bedroom was SOO comfortable & the shower is cool too. The frosting on the cake was that I got my deposit back the same day I checked out! Joe was a real pleasure to talk to. He is on it! I would definitely come back and refer others!
This house was a pleasure to stay in! It has everything you need to relax and enjoy hanging out. It is a beautiful home, spacious, quiet setting and clean. We enjoyed the lovely backyard and pool. We originally had planned on doing some outings but instead we enjoyed being in the home so much, we didn't end up leaving it hardly at all. We also brought our dog which was a nice plus. We definitely plan on returning soon!
As a VRBO owner I was very pleased with our stay at Indigo Dreams. My family flew in from different parts of the country and this home was a great place for us to relax in between wedding events. The house is extremely livable and the back yard area expands the living area tremendously. love it would stay there again in a second, my family wants to buy it.
Quiet, private and beautiful plus the best equipped kitchen we've ever seen. Great location, more amenities than we had time to use. Joe was the perfect host. If you are considering this place, take it knowing that the home is WAY more SPECIAL than the pics show. PS Don't miss the programmable light show with the pool.
We stayed at this beautiful, well-appointed home in January 2013 with 4 adults and 3 children. The home is very well decorated, including a full equipped kitchen. We have stayed in other rental homes where the kitchen includes the basics, but this was above and beyond! If you want to stay in, you are able to find everything and have the tools to make a gourmet meal. There was a binder full of information on local restaurants if we wanted to go out, too. The rooms are comfortable and the common living space allows for great conversation and relaxing. The pool, hot tub and backyard were great during the day and for when the kids went to sleep, including a fantastic fire pit area. The backyard is private, with amazing views and the neighbourhood felt safe and friendly. The laundry facilities and highchair made it so easy to vacation with children. Everything was well-stocked and organized. It was like staying at a friends house (that has really great taste). Joe was available to give us an initial tour and introduction and for any questions we had throughout our stay. We have recommended this home to friends and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time we visit Palm Springs.
We had a family reunion in the Indigo house and there was plenty of room to sleep 7 adults. We really enjoyed the backyard, especially the firepit, pool and the hot tub. The pool lights at night were fun, too. The kitchen was unbelievable -- every kind of spice and condiment you could think of--it's as if someone lives there all of the time. The shower in the master bathroom was spectacular as well. Great vacation spot.
From Dec.7 TO 11 2013 (While storm DION was hitting MidWest and Easet coast). A family of 4 (with 3 yr old)from France and L.A.We arrived just at the peak of the cold California weather. None the less the house was perfectly heated and we were able to enjoy the Spa and the Pool during our stay. This place is very comfortable , roomy with Good HD TV / DVD and excellent WiFI service and AT&T coverage (required for business reason). The kitchen has everything you need (and even more). Many drawers and cupboards , but everything correctly labelled. Bedrooms are spacious with plenty of space to store your belongings and beds are a pleasure to sleep in. Cathedral City is perfectly located , away from the wind blowing in the valley. Not far from Palm Spring (PS Air Museum and Sky Tram), Rancho Mirage, La Quinta. Indigo Lane is so quiet and safe for children. Thank you for all the detailed information provided by Joe before our arrival and very detailed information on how to operate all the equipments inside. This is a perfect exemple of what an Instruction Manual should be when you rent a home.
We have rented many homes, and this is one of the most tastefully decorated, well-appointed homes we have stayed in. Every amenity was thoughtfully provided, from the plentiful seating areas, to the pool towels at the ready, to pots, pans, dishes and utensils that were all top notch. Although in a neighborhood with homes to the left and to the right, there was no house directly behind the property, which allowed for gorgeous view of the desert and mountains with a remote and peaceful feel. The owners put a lot of care into providing for their guests, and it showed. Bonus points for providing explicit directions on how to run everything in the house. We look forward to staying there again!
This is a wonderful property, very clean, very comfortable, light and airy, a great kitchen to work in, with views of the pool. Lots of floats, umbrellas, lounge chairs and places to enjoy the back yard. We were four adults and four children. Nice and roomy for all of us. Master bath shower functions but could use a make over. The other bathroom worked well for our family. Our host, Joe, was great, always attentive to anything we ask of him. Our family has been renting VRBO homes for over 12 years and Joe is by far the best owner we have ever rented from. The home felt like a home which very few do.
My family and I (Wife, 1 daughter and husband, 2nd daughter and girlfriend, 6 people total) stayed at this stunning home in Cathedral City. We absolutely enjoyed every aspect of this home. The private backyard with Salt water pool and spa, the excellent location, every amenity thoughtfully provided, spacious living area complete with all electronic devices, a kitchen with all the gadgets and all this in a wonderful neighborhood. We stayed for 10 nights and the only negative was we couldn't stay longer. The only thing I would love to see the owners add would be a couple of bi-cycles to tour the amazing neighbor hood. I would like to personally thank the owners for sharing (renting) this wonderful home with my family. We will be coming back to the desert and hopefully to this home, in the near future.
During our 4 wk stay at Indigo we found it to be quite comfortable and relaxing. Close to most parts of the valley, nice quiet street, lots of places to walk and bike, multiple restaurants and shopping nearby and good access to golf. Neighbors friendly. Superb backyard, great place to hang out with a view of the valley. Large pool and patio space to accommodate sun and shade needs. Worked very well with our dogs. Would gladly return and appreciated the restaurant gift certificate and doggie treats left for our arrival.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying in your property. We all enjoyed the kitchen as it so well equipped with dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots & pans, spices etc. We felt like we were at home. The bedrooms and bathrooms worked out fine for us as at times there were 6 adults and 3 children. The outside area makes the home a perfect spot. There are nice seating areas and we used them all.The kids and adults loved the pool and the pool toys. The outside fireplace was amazing and was used most nights. We founfd the location was very central for our needs. Thank you for letting us stay in your home and being so helpful with info and getting back to me.
We drove to Palm Springs from Edmonton, Alberta and arrived early and were delighted that Joe the property owner was able to let us in 2 days early. He went out of his way the whole time we were there to make sure we had everything we needed, including playpen and high chair for when the grandkids came. The property is clean and the kitchen has EVERYTHING you can think of. The outside area is well maintained and has a huge yard with enough seating for over 20 people. We would definitely rent this property again.
My experience started off with Joe. He is quick to respond and pretty much a class act across the board. I was rather surprised to see how clean the home was when my family arrived. The home has a great vibe and was streamlined with a retro Palm Springs contemporary flair. At night the backyard pool area light up just perfectly and had a rare view of the valley city lights since the home is perched up on a hill in Cat Cove. This is rare since 99% of the homes/condos in Cochella Velley are on the valley floor without any height elevation. The kitchen features were great, and the gas glass chip fireplace in the living room was soo relaxing at night. My 5 year old girl fell asleep with me on a blanket right in front of the fire several times...tv was off. The outdoor gas fire pit was a nice touch and came in handy to have a couple beers and tell old stories with my younger brother whom I see only a couple times a year. The outdoor pool patio lawn chairs were comfy and plentiful. The bocci set was also handy to have in the back yard. Joe runs a professional operation. He even returned my security deposit within 12 hours of checking out! Talking about booking another reservation in Green Indigo next year for a family vacation.
This villa is in a nice location with very nice views of the surrounding area, the accommodation was perfect for my family of 5. Joe made us feel most welcome and made sure that everything was ok for our stay which it was, I would totally recommend this property, it's always a worry when booking something via the Internet but we chose this over the others because of the reviews posted plus the location of course. You are close to all amenities and there are plenty of shops golf courses (but a bit too hot to play when we stayed) restaurants Joshua tree national park is defiantly worth visiting. The only thing we did not get to do while we where there was take a trip in the Arial Tramway as it was closed for annual maintenance.
My girlfriends and I rent a house in Palm Springs a few times a year. The last few times we rented a cool alexander in Racquet Club Estates. This year it was already booked for July 4th, and thank God it was! We had the most amazing time at our new favorite house. It's not a true mid-century, but it feels like one since it has concrete floors, beam ceilings, walls of glass and gorgeous modern furniture. The house was spotless and beautifully staged when we arrived (orchids, beds stylishly turned down, etc). We brunched at Normas or Cheeky's, then came back and tanned in the large luxurious yard on ultra comfortable padded lounge chairs, shaded by stylish umbrellas on wheels to be easily moved around, and then we cooked fabulous meals in the super well-equipped kitchen- like does your home have peets coffee beans, organic teas, organic sea salt, organic extra virgin olive oil, and fig balsamic vinegar?! We floated on fab pool floats from morning till night, toasted marshmallows on the fire-pit, and soaked in the bubbly hot tub each night. The pool has a nice light, but there's no light in the spa, which we ultimately decided was a nice feature but we weren't sure at first! After experiencing this computer-controlled salt-water pool and spa, we're never going back to our windy, old hard-to-heat alexander chlorine spa. Lol. Everything about this place is perfect. From the giant pool towels to the luxury beds and killer kitchen. Everytime we asked "do you think they might have a xyz" we found it somewhere! Sometimes we found two! This is the place to host cocktails and impress your friends. I hope it's clear that we love this place and we'll be back here next time for sure.
Our family spent 2 fabulous weeks at this Cathedral City home. The location to shopping, restaurants & golf courses was great. The house was well stocked with towels, pool toys, pool loungers & everything else we needed. The kitchen was equipped with every gadget for cooking with a great unobstructed view out to the pool & outside action. Our greatest enjoyment was sitting outside at the natural gas fire pit after the stars had come out; we roasted hotdogs and s'mores a view times ;) The owners made themselves extremely accessible if we did have any questions or issues during our stay. We came home, tanned, well rested & excited for another Spring Break in California next year!
After spending months fine-tuning every detail of our wedding, it was luxurious to stay in a home that had been created with integrity and beauty in every aspect. Living sustainably is an important value for us. When we have gone on vacation and stayed in hotels, it has felt like we have to set aside our values to do so. It set our minds at ease to stay in a home that honors our values. We made it a point to enjoy time in the pool together every day of our stay. My wife has sensitive skin, so it was great for us to have a pool without any chlorine. And the walls around the backyard gave us enough privacy to allow for some no-tan-lines sunbathing after we were done in the water :) The house is in a great location for exploring the desert. It is a short drive to get to downtown Palm Springs; and it is close to Joshua Tree National Park, and some of the local palm oases where we spent afternoons hiking and being mystified by the plants and creatures that have learned to thrive in such challenging conditions. It was a thoughtful touch that the house has a computer and printer so we could print maps for each of our daily adventures. There is a book of maps and information in the house that Joe has created. We were in touch with Joe both before and during our visit. Upon our arrival we found a sweet note from Joe congratulating us on our nuptials. It was a beautiful touch! He made suggestions for how to maximize our enjoyment of the area. He helped us find local treasures like the margaritas at El Mirasol, and Shame on the Moon where we shared a romantic dinner on the last night of our stay. He also steered us to Clark's Nutrition and Natural Foods to get great produce for cooking meals at the house. We loved cooking in the kitchen. Everything was organized well so we could find what we needed with ease. It was also a relief to do laundry on our last morning so we didn't have to carry dirty laundry home with us. By the end of our visit, we felt restored. We luxuriated in the bed and beautiful bedding. We indulged in the stunning master shower with amazing sunlight streaming in from above. We had put so much love and energy into our wedding, and needed to relax and enjoy the first days of being husband and wife. Staying in a home that was built and maintained with such thoughtful, loving, responsible care helped us to feel like our honeymoon was an extension of our wedding. We couldn't have asked for a better place to begin our marriage
I recently spent 2 weeks (Christmas/New Years 2011) at this wonderful hidden gem in Palm Springs. It was so relaxing that we didn't want to leave. I can't say enough about this property. It is so comfortable, quiet and accommodating. The owner, has put tremendous thought into every detail of this property. From labeling everything in the cabinets to a book with detailed information about all functions of the property including the pool and spa, not one detail is left out. There was not one thing that we needed that this house did not provide. It has to be one of the best stocked rental houses in this market. Also, the owner, was available at any moment to answer any questions before we arrived, and during our stay. We would highly recommend this property to anyone coming to the Palm Springs area.
We just returned from a perfect week, celebrating my husband's birthday at this truly beautiful and special home. After reading the other reviews here, there's not much to say except "DITTO!" The home (Green Indigo 2 is what the owner calls it) is everything they say it is AND MORE. What they don't tell you is that the neighbors are some of the nicest people in the whole desert, too. They even invited us over for birthday cocktails one evening! It really feels like the owners (and neighbors!) thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and very special - especially the birthday balloons that were left for my husband! The pool, spa and backyard are beyond compare. We may not wait for another birthday to come back! P.S. you have to try the gourmet burger joint Frickleburgers – just down the street!
We always rent homes in the city of Palm Springs, but this place looked so nice we took a risk on a new neighborhood and we are so glad we did! The home's location, the neighborhood (including the neighbors!) was just perfect. From the first minute we walked up to the front door, we could tell we were going to have a great time. The place has the private feel of an estate property but it's sooo comfortable, too. The view of the pool, yard and valley once you open the front door is simply breathtaking! Our family loves the hot summer nights, and we stay in amazing homes like this one for about half the high season rates before school starts up again. For what we paid, if you'll excuse the analogy, it seemed like highway robbery - with us being the robbers! This place has everything you could wish for: privacy, terrific views, fantastic pool/spa, huge backyard, light and airy home, super comfortable beds, comfortable huge leather sectional in the living room, well stocked with DVDs, board games, books/magazines, iPhone speakers/docks, cooler, even a juicer and rice cooker, smart/hip modern styling - they thought of everything. We ate outside every night and enjoyed the fun firepit (even though it was warm out!) by the pool and outdoor dining area. It was picture PERFECT! The bedrooms were super comfortable and stylish. One was a little small (with the queen bed in it - maybe change to a double? but it was the kid's favorite because it was decorated very mid-century hip). We loved the master suite with it's big closet and stunning shower! Our kids don't want us to rent another house unless it has a salt water pool like Green Indigo. In fact, they don't really want us to rent any OTHER house but this one! They had so much fun with the pool toys and on the pool floats that they really didn't want to go to Knott's Soak City like they usually do, and for all the time they spent in the pool they didn't have chlorine eyes/skin - "yay!" for the salt water. (The kids accidentally left the french doors open while we were out in the pool and the air conditioner froze up. Sorry Joe- it was almost 110 out and I guess we turned the thermostat down too low, but it was fine after we turned it off for a bit. That happened to us at the last house we rented - so maybe we would learn our lesson!) We dream of escaping work and school to have another vacation at Green Indigo. Joe, the owner was so great and easy to deal with. Joe, thanks for sharing your awesome retreat!
We had an absolutely delightful weekend getaway at this Palm Springs home over Memorial Weekend. We were always in the pool or spa which is surrounded by the most beautiful views and landscaping I've seen in a long time. It was warm at night, but we couldn't resist running the fireplace inside and the firepit outside - they're both so beautiful and they created instant ambiance so well. The house was exceptional decorated and outfitted with everything we could have wanted. The house seemed much more comfortable and luxurious than other modern-style homes we've stayed in. Even our old dog didn't want to leave on Monday - the welcome bowl of treats won her over day 1! I'd go on and on, but I'd be afraid too many people will want to book this house making it harder for us to book for our next trip! :) :) :3-]
My wife and I stayed here over Easter Weekend. The house is beautifully done and decorated inside. The stained concrete floors are a great touch and very handy coming in from the pool. The kitchen is really nice and well equipped as well. The large back yard with pool, hot tub and fire pit are perfect for relaxing. We would definitely recommend this house and stay there again ourselves.
A great retreat in the desert for 3 couples -- Fun evenings around the poolside firepit with the pool lights on or in front of the livingroom fire playing games after our group culinary efforts in the fabulous kitchen or at the barbecue. Beautiful yard to relax in with your morning coffee enjoying the views, and just kick back to read, swim, and visit. Great neighbourhood, and neigbours.... they are even known to share all kinds of fresh picked fruit! Walk right from your front door up into Cathedral Canyon - a great morning hike before you start your day. Joe & Doug are very caring hosts and work hard to ensure you feel welcome & you have a great stay in Indigo 2 .
